Hazard analysis

Axelrod provides a good introduction to hazard analysis in his book Engineering Safe and Secure Software Systems. In this book, he discusses three methods that are commonly used for hazard analysis:

  • Hazard and operability studies (HAZOPs)
  • Fault-tree analysis
  • Failure modes and effects analysis (FMEA)
