Performing a clean installation

To continue with the clean install after you have booted your computer from a bootable USB, as explained in the Installing on a bootable USB section, do the following:

  1. In the Windows Setup window, enter your language and other preferences and click Next.
  2. Click the Install now button to install your copy of Windows 10.
  3. Enter the Product key and click Next.
  4. Select the operating system you want to install and click Next.
  5. Take your time to read the Microsoft Software License Terms, then check I accept the license terms and click Next.
  6. Select the Custom type of installation and select the drive where you want to install Windows 10. Click Next.
  7. Installing Windows 10 has started up (see Figure 2.12), so sit back and relax:

  1. Windows needs to restart to continue installing Windows 10 files on your computer.
  2. After the restart, Windows will try to get ready and it will automatically restart again.
  3. After the restart, Windows will ask you to set up basic settings, networks, accounts, and services.
  4. Once the required pre-configurations are completed, the Windows 10 desktop will appear.
