Setting up the logon script GPO

To set up the logon script GPO, complete the following steps in domain controller (DC):

1. Click the Start button on the taskbar, and select Server Manager from the Start menu.
2. From the Tools menu, select Group Policy Management.
3. In the Group Policy Management console, right-click the domain and select Create a GPO in this domain, and Link it here..., as shown in Figure 5.18:

1. In the New GPO window, enter the name for the GPO and click OK (see Figure 5.19):

1. On the Linked Group Policy Object tab, right-click the newly created GPO and select Edit.
2. In the Group Policy Manager Editor window, expand User Configuration | Policies | Windows Settings | Scripts (logon/logoff).
3. In the right-hand pane of the Group Policy Manager Editor window, right-click the logon GPO and select Properties.
4. In the Logon Properties window, click the Show Files button, copy your script to that location, and close the window.
5. Back to the Logon Properties window, click the Add button. 
6. In the Add a script window, browse your script from the recently copied location, and then click OK.
7. In the Logon Properties window, click the OK button.

1. Close the Group Policy Manager Editor window.
2. On the Linked Group Policy Object tab in the Group Policy Management console, right-click the newly created GPO and select Enforced, as in Figure 5.20:

1. Click OK when asked Do you want to change the Enforced setting for this GPO Link(s).
2. On one of the computers that are part of the domain, log on, and then test the newly created activation script.
