Access Management

Access management is one of the biggest elements of AWS security. It governs how, when, who, and what can access your resources at any given time. In this chapter, we will dive deep into each element of access management security that you will need to be aware of and master for the AWS security specialty certification.

You must be able to confidently implement and manage access controls across a range of different authentication mechanisms and understand all principles of permissions-based access policies. You also need to be aware of some of the specific services and features in place that are specifically designed to enrich and enhance the access control method selected. 

Within this chapter, we shall be focusing on the following topics:

• Understanding Identity and Access Management (IAM) 
• Provisioning users, groups, and roles in IAM
• Configuring Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA)
